A snake enthusiast in Dampier Port Authority in Western Australia diverted traffic around a massive 2.5-metre police python that was leisurely crossing a road.
Matthew Bager was driving with friends recently when he noticed the slithery creature on the road. He stopped his car and ensured it was safe.
As the snake neared the side of the road, he lay on the ground a few meters from it as a friend took a picture.
A local resident, Tracey Heimberger, shared the picture on Facebook and praised Matthew for ensuring the serpent was safe.
She wrote: “Matthew waited with the python until it got off the road safely. For those of you who aren’t from the local area – this road is very busy.”
